The Bible amazes me, in preparing for Sunday’s message I was reminded of somethings as if it was the very first time I had considered them.
This isn’t the first time this has happened.
There are also moments a truth pops out that I had never thought of before but was there all along. Its like the Holy Spirit hid that truth from me, until the right moment. The moment I was willing to accept it.
I can see how the Old Testament Rabbis could spend there whole lives wrestling with the scriptures, talking about what this person said about them and then that person and then discussing what they thought about them. I can see how they could recite a passage for the thousandth time and discover a new truth to wrestle with.
If you do not understand what I am saying here, it is probably because you do not read the Bible as much as you should.
And maybe the reason you do not read it is you feel you know all there is to know about it. So why waste your time?
The funny thing?
You’re wasting your time by not reading it…
and missing out on experiences God wants you to have as you study it.
If you have stopped reading it…. just pick it back up today and read it until you get to a passage that makes you wrestle with some truth…
new or old.
